Holiday Schedules

The Holiday Schedules page allows you to create a list of holidays that are used in SLA calculations. If a work order comes in over a holiday, the SLA calculation extends a day so that non-working days are not included in the calculation.

Multiple holiday schedules can be created so that properties in different locations can have the appropriate holiday schedule associated with it. For example, you might create separate holiday schedules for US and Canadian properties.

Holiday schedules must be updated every year so that the appropriate date is associated with each holiday. You cannot define recurring holidays.

To open the Holiday Schedules page:

  1. Open the Administration Menu page.

  2. Under the ADMIN heading, click Holiday Schedules.

ClosedAdd a Holiday Schedule

Adding a holiday schedule allows you to define the dates that will be treated as non-working holidays for performing SLA calculations. To create a new holiday schedule:

  1. In the Add a New Holiday Schedule field, enter a name for the holiday schedule.

The name you enter must be unique.

  2. Click ADD.

A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  3. Click OK.

The holiday schedule is created. Additional fields appear allowing you to add the individual holidays to the schedule.

  4. In the Date field, enter the calendar date on which the holiday falls.

  5. In the Description field, enter a name for the holiday.

The system validates that the Date/Description value combination is unique to prevent you from entering duplicate holidays. You are allowed to enter holidays with different descriptions on the same date or holidays with the same description on different dates.

  6. Click ADD.

The holiday is added to the schedule. You can repeat steps 4 and 5 for each holiday in the schedule.

ClosedEdit a Holiday Schedule

Holiday schedules can be modified. For example, you can rename the schedule, add or delete holidays, or modify a holiday date. In general, you should add new holidays every year instead of modifying historical holidays to reflect new dates.

To edit a holiday schedule:

  1. In the Holiday Schedule field, select the holiday schedule you want to edit.

  2. To rename the schedule, enter a new name in the Rename field.

Renaming a holiday schedule causes all historical information to reflect the new name.

  3. To add a holiday, enter a new Date and a Description, and click ADD.

  4. To modify an existing holiday, modify the current Date and a Description.

The system validates that the Date/Description value combination is unique to prevent you from entering duplicate holidays. You are allowed to enter holidays with different descriptions on the same date or holidays with the same description on different dates.

  5. To delete an existing holiday, click the DELETE button to the right of the holiday.

  6. Click UPDATE.

ClosedDelete a Holiday Schedule

Holiday schedules that have not been used can be deleted from the system. If a holiday schedule has been associated with a property, it cannot be deleted.

To delete a holiday schedule:

  1. In the Holiday Schedule field, select the holiday schedule you want to delete.

  2. Click DELETE.

A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  3. Click OK.

ClosedOther Options

The Other Options pane allows super administrators to propagate a holiday schedule control and its associated holidays to all properties in a region. Performing this function is equivalent to opening the Edit Property page and selecting this holiday schedule for each property in the region.

Note:

The Other Admin Options pane is only available to super administrators. Use this function with caution since it will overwrite any existing holiday schedules associated with every property in the selected region.

To propagate holiday schedules to other properties:

  1. In the Holiday Schedule field, select the holiday schedule that you want to propagate to the region.

  2. Open the Other Options pane.

  3. To the right of the Propagate this Holiday Schedule to Properties in this Region label, click the Select link.

A dialog box opens allowing you to select a region.

  4. Locate and select the desired region.

  5. Click UPDATE.

A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  6. Click OK.
